We love hockey at Big White and we want to support our world junior hockey team by watching all the games!  Come down to the Happy Valley Day Lodge to watch all the action on the big screen or watch the games in the Village Centre Mall.  Go Canada Go!

January 8th & 9th - BCSA Provinvial Series Slopestyle

The first stop of the BC Snowboard Association Provincial Snowboard series at Big White always draws a top-notch field, and young guns wanting to make a name for themselves. Drop in to TELUS Park and watch our next Canadian Olympic hopefuls get their groove on. Contestants under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign event waivers in person. Helmets are mandatory for all competitions in TELUS Park.

This event will take place in the large lane of the TELUS Park; therefore it will be closed both days.  The event will usually wrap by 2pm, and the park can be opened once clean up of the site is completed.

You can win some great prizes and a free Cruz the Blues t-shirt at the awards ceremony in the Happy Valley Day Lodge at 4pm on January 15th.

January 16th - 20th - National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Week

It's time to learn how ti ski or snowboard, or get back into our favorite sports if you gave it up years ago!  One lucky local school will have the opportunity to win a day trip to Big White including a transportation, lift tickets, rentals, lessons, lunch and tons of fun!  Stay tunes for more information or check out The Canadian Ski Council website.

January 23rd - Chinese New Year

It's the year of the Tiger!  This is the most important and longest festivity in the Chinese Lunisolar Calendar.  The Chinese New Year tradition is to reconcile, forget all grudges and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone. 

January 26th - Australia Day

Celebrate all that is Australian today with your fellow mates!  Follow Boomer the kangaroo down the Kangaroo run to start off the day at 10am.  Meet us in Happy Valley for a cricket match and a sausage sizzle from noon.  Get out your green and gold, and your Aussie flags, this day is yours Australia!

February 10th-12th - BCSA Provincial Series Boardercross

A provincial Series boardercross event happening in TELUS Park.  This will be more of a grass-roots style event to get a younger crowd who may have never been in a race before.

This is a provincial level event, with competitors of all ages.  Some riders will compete at the FIS level and be earning points.

February 14th - Valentine's Day

February 18th - Billabong Presents “Flaunt it” An All Women’s Snowboard Series Event

Billabong presents ‘Flaunt It’.  An all-girls slopestyle & rail jam snowboard contest that is aimed at being fun and giving girls from all levels a chance to ‘Flaunt It’, while providing cash and great prizes for the girls to vie for. Skicross athletes from all over the world converge on Big White to battle it out at this North American series event. TELUS Park will be amping up its snowcross course for this high level event. Make sure to stop by and watch all the action in TELUS Park.

This is a High-level event, requiring a very High Level course.  The Snowcross Course will be closed the week of the event so we can “amp up” the course to a Nor Am Level.

March 17-19th K1 Provinvial Championships will show off the best 11 and 12 year old skier BC has to offer.  They will be racing slalom, GS and a new combi Skier Cross Race.

March 23rd - 25th - 15th Annual Neil Edgeworth Memorial Banked Slalom

Big White is proud to host & celebrate the 15th year of the Neil Edgeworth Memorial Banked Slalom Event.  Last year we hosted a record number of riders so make sure that you email early to get a spot in this year's event.  We will be having a huge 15th Annual celebration party at the Loose Moose Cafe at the Happy Valley Day Lodge on Saturday night after the dinner banquet.  E-mail terrainparkevents@bigwhite.com and get your name on the list!  We just need your name, age and what category you want to ride.  Limited spots so R.S.V.P. NOW!!!    Helmets are mandatory for all competitors.

The Banked Slalom is held off the Ridge rocket on the gully to the right of the chairlift and continues on to speculation to finish.  There will need to be some cat work done on speculation, as well as the steep pitch before heading in to the gully.  Last year we had over 250 competitors, we expect more this year.  There will be huge celebration party and dinner banquet on the Saturday at Happy Valley.  All staff is welcome to race in this event, if they work the day of, we will squeeze them in on their lunch break.

March 24th-April 1st - Manitoba & Alberta Spring Break

This is one of our most popular events of the season! Come and check out everyone's great footage from the 2011/2012 season! This is a free event held in the Happy Valley Day Lodge at 8:00pm, but come early because it will get busy!

Entries may be submitted from March 1 to March 25, 2012.  No Late entries will be accepted!

Conditions of entry: ONE ENTRY PER CATEGORY • All photos must be taken during 11/12 season at BIG WHITE SKI RESORT. All film material must be owned by contestant and shot in the 11/12 season • Contestants must select which category they wish to enter • Films may be no longer than 5 min.
